Kind words from pet owners

This section of our website is dedicated to the kind feedback we have received from a range of pet owners. We really appreciate their thoughts at a time of great sadness.

A lovely place to take our dearly loved dog, Saphy.

I took her straight there immediately from the vets after sadly having had to put her to rest, she was 15 years 3 months old. We had her ashes back within 2 days... really nice genuine people... go and chat with them yourself, you'll see.

Antonio Betlur (July 2023)

We lost Archie to cancer two days ago and, after to speaking to a friend who had used Pets at Rest, I knew immediately that was where I wanted to take him.

I can't thank them enough for their compassion and friendliness from the first phone call to picking him up earlier today. He was treated with care and dignity and they went above and beyond what was expected and I will be eternally grateful.

I can't thank Pat, Les and Victoria enough.

Glen passed and left a massive void in my day to day life. From the first phone call, to picking Glen up to take home, he was treated with the utmost dignity and to see him in the chapel of rest looking so peaceful was more than I expected.

I would like to thank you for the eulogy you put together, which had Glen down to a 'T'

At what has been a traumatic time for all of us I can not speak highly enough of the team here. They really looked after us and our beautiful girl from the first minute. They gave her the send off she deserved and presented her back to us in a wonderful dignified way.

I honestly hope we don't have to go back anytime soon but if we find ourselves on that rollercoaster ride of pet ownership again we wouldn't use anywhere else.

Thank You to Pat, Les & Victoria

Pat & Les looked after my beautiful little girl Lulu in such a special way, there are no words to say how I can thank you both. You didn't just help Lulu, you helped me to cope and be able to leave her with you.

I called yesterday to bring her home and was blown away. Brilliant couple who truly do love animals and understand fully how we feel too. AMAZING xx

Tina March

One word amazing, the owners were fantastic they were a light shining in a very dark tunnel on the day we lost our beautiful girl Poppy, who had been with us for 14 years. we were put at ease from the moment that we met Pat and Les, they treated our beautiful girl with the up most respect and dignity.

We can not thank them enough for their help and support at a very hard time, I felt like I had known them all my life and that they had known Poppy to by the way Pat spoke about her. We are truly grateful for their help, guidance and support at what was a difficult time.

Huge thanks to Les, Pat and Victoria for providing such a caring and sensitive service for our little dog Nellie. The way you looked after Nellie made a massive difference to what was a truly horrible time. Can't thank you enough.

A1 service. The love for animals is truly shown by pat and les. Nothing is to much trouble. Thank you

Paul

Absolutely top class service. Very professional in the way they handle the situation after your sad loss, we was made to feel at ease and we even managed a few smiles while we reminisced about the good times we had with our dog.

A great service! Made one of the worst times in my life a little easier, not clinical, more personal, all my heartfelt thanks Jo and (dolly) x

baby the cat

We lost our cat "Baby" on the 8th November 2021.

We contacted Pets At Rest Derbyshire where we spoke with Pat & Les. A lovely couple who made a very sad time feel better with their caring, Understanding manner and service. "Baby" was back home within a few days of taking her there it would have been much quicker but we had a funeral to attend so collected her a few days later.

We have taken all our family pets here over the years and the service as always been excellent. Thank you to Pat, Les & Victoria so very much x

Hello Pat,

Thank you so much for your kindness and compassion when we came to you to put Jaspar to rest and in previously in 2017 when we put Lizzie to rest. It is comforting to be able to find people who understand the exceptional grief felt at the unexpected loss of our beloved Jaspar.

His ashes are now planted into a pot with a beautiful white rose. I feel reassured that we treated Jaspar and Lizzie with as much love and respect in death as life.

A couple of beautiful Jaspar and Lizzie photographs are shown.

It was extremely good fortune that enabled us to find your telephone number on the evening of Friday, 12 July 2013 when we were in despair. Earlier that evening our daughter, Jo had contacted us greatly upset after faithful pet, Ellie had suddenly died. Although we were most anxious to help her we really did not know what to do and therefore to find your telephone number and hear Pat's calm, reassuring voice explaining your services was a great relief.

There is so much we would like to thank you for. Firstly, for allowing us to bring Ellie to you so late on that Friday evening and for your sympathetic understanding of the grief that Jo was experiencing. Also for your reassurances and consideration at such a difficult time. We would also like to thank you for the dignified manner that sadly all pets cannot experience.

We know that whilst you were so considerate and understanding with us this cannot have been easy for you as sadly you had lost your own faithful friend only the day before. Therefore, we are especially grateful for the time and consideration you gave to us. Jo is still much saddened by the loss of Ellie but is comforted by the care and consideration that you gave her.

We would like to thank you for your help and understanding at this difficult time.

We would like to say a big thank you for looking after our girl Ebony after our sudden loss. As you know it is so devastating to loose a pet, but we rest in the knowledge that she was looked after, respected and treated with the dignity that she deserved.

The personal and professional touch you give helps us to deal with the difficult time that is to follow. We needed strength to cope and your compassion and understanding and care you have for animals helps us immensely.

Ebony was a very faithful, devoted girl and we enjoyed the time we had with her and we treasure the fact we were able to have shared her life, she was a grand age of 11 years 6 months, and to know that you treated her final passage with empathy, at such a difficult time for us, helped us to cope.

Thank you once again for all your support, you are two very special people.

I must admit that I didn't know what to expect when I came to collect Sam's ashes last week. I was met by this wonderful, warm and friendly human being who introduced me to the Chapel of Rest and left me to celebrate and cherish the 13 years of Sam's life! Sam had been awonderfully loyal friend and this was a fitting tribute to his time with us.

When we took Sam to the Vets we realised that he was seriously ill and that after 13 memorable years with Sherwood Forest as his back garden it was time to let him go peacefully and painlessly. Difficult as that was it was the only decision that was in Sam's best interests. It would have been too easy to consider ourselves and not Sam.

I felt that after the death Sam had been treated with the utmost respect and dignity as he had been in life. I found it very refreshing to talk to you afterwards. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you once again.

As you will know, this has been a very difficult time for us. We are all desperately missing Oscar as he was so much a part of our family. His memories not only fill every part of our home and garden but spill into every aspect of our lives.

The day we lost Oscar was such a sad day for us but we feel privileged to have been directed to you. You treated our loss with much compansion and understanding, encouraging us to talk about the years we had with Oscar which has helped with coming to terms with such a traumatic event.

We think of you often and talk about the beautiful peaceful place we laid Oscar. He would have loved your garden and we think of his spirit being between our home and yours.

Thank you once again for your understanding and the respect you gave to Oscar at the end of a very wonderful life. We are so sad that Oscar is no longer with us but also very grateful to him for the nine very special years he was with us.

A heartfelt thank you to Pat, Victoria and Les for the way they looked after my best pal ‘Star’ at what was a very harrowing time for Janet and myself. Over my professional life I recommended ‘Pets at Rest’ many times to grieving clients. It’s bittersweet to realise that the advice given was well founded.

The service they provide comes with the highest standards of care and compassion and cannot be recommended highly enough.

Chris Charlesworth

Would just like to say a big thank you for helping us give our "Bear" our beloved dog a beautiful farewell. I can honestly say after meeting you all today has eased my sadness knowing he was well looked after. Please keep up all the good and dignified workyou do. Once again Thank you!

Tonia

At such a devastating time, we give our thanks to you. Your facilities and the service you provide are second to none. Saying our goodbyes to Nikki couldn't have been in a better place than your beautiful and peaceful Chapel of Rest. What you offer to people who have lost their beloved pets is superb.

Not least is your own personal kindness, care and respect, shown to our darling Nikki and to Keith, myself and Louis. We came to you as strangers and left as friends. Thank you for everything.

Rochelle, Keith and Louis

We want to thank you for all you did for us in our moment of grief and loss; your compassion helped us through the saddest hour and allowed us the time and place to say goodbye to our beloved Nanetta. She has been our wise teacher and loving companion for the last 15 years, and we are glad to have entrusted you with this ultimate task and have her ashes back with us, forever reminding of her infinite ability to feel and love.

Discover your loving care both for living animals which need to be loved like your newcomer dog Jesse and for the ones that passed away has meant a lot for us, and we couldn't thinkof better hands when it comes to take care of our dearest companions.

Paula

I wanted to write these words to express our gratitude to you both. You are very compassionate and understanding people who carry a very positive loving energy about you. The service you provide is second to none, the Chapel of Rest is such a beautiful, peaceful place. I felt so reassured leaving Penny in you care.

We will miss her so much, but we feel comforted to know that she was treated in the end with the respect and dignity that she deserved and that we once again have her home with us. The forget-me-nots were a beautiful gesture and I will always remember her by them.

Sue & Ken Miller

Full of compassion you entered our home and helped to put us at some ease, reassuring us that you would take good care of our prescious friend and that he would spend his last night with you in your beautiful chapel.

The following day we came to your farm to collect our boy and I will never forget your hospitality, compassion and of course your peaceful chapel, it is a credit to you both.

Thank you so much for your care given to my family and most of all, our beloved Seby.

Kathy

To meet someone who really cares in this day and age is a very rare and special blessing. Thank you for taking the time to share your kindness, your feelings and opening your hearts to our needs. You really helped my mother and I, more than words could express. Being able to help others in times of need is a gift. Our meetings I will always consider a blessing. Take care of each other.

Christine

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend your excellent service. Everything was so beautifully done.
